[BR]How does it work?Tar blend is made up of a number of ingredients including pine tar, cade oil, coal tar solution, arachis oil and an extract of coal tar. Coal tar has the main effect in this blend, by reducing itching and acting as a mild antiseptic. It also acts as a keratolytic agent. Keratin is a protein that forms part of the skin structure and can cause thickening of the skin when in excess. Keratolytic agents, such as coal tar, act by breaking down keratin and therefore help to reduce the excessive hardening, thickening and scaling of the skin.This preparation is used to treat scalp disorders such as dandruff, psoriasis and an inflammatory skin condition known as seborrhoeic dermatitis in which there is an excess secretion of oil (sebum) from the glands in the skin.What is it used for?
Dandruff
Eczema of the scalp
Inflammation of the scalp due to excessive oil secretion (seborrhoeic dermatitis)
Itching (pruritis) of the scalp
Psoriasis of the scalp
Remove ointments and pastes used in the treatment of psoriasis
