其次,解释得这种病的感觉(expain what it's like)
接着再告诉他们,这还是一种非常严重的疾病(this is a serious disease)
最后,谢谢他们向你提问(thank them for asking)
Clear up a myth. Explain that psoriasis is not contagious—it's a genetic disease that affects millions of Americans, and it's actually your immune system that's malfunctioning.
Explain what it's like. Tell your questioner that psoriasis can be uncomfortable or painful, and that you have to spend a lot of time each day dealing with it. Mention a time when you were made to feel unwelcome in a public place because of psoriasis, or felt embarrassed to wear what you wanted.
This is a serious disease. Besides being a visible skin disease, psoriasis also means higher risks for heart disease, cancer, depression and other serious diseases. Some people also develop psoriatic arthritis, a painful joint condition.
Thank them for asking. By explaining psoriasis to one curious person, you may be spreading awareness to others as well.
